Each butterfly takes 15 hours + to make and is crafted using fine wire to sculpt the wings and thread painting embroidery techniques to capture the fine details
ETHICAL FAUX TAXIDERMY
It’s almost impossible to guarantee that real butterflies sourced for taxidermy have died naturally without human interference, so I decided to make them from scratch!

HOW ARE THEY MADE?
the process
I am an embroidery artist from London obsessed with nature and wildlife. My journey started with butterfly taxidermy until I realised that it was impossible to guarantee the butterflies sourced had died naturally. So I decided to make my own from scratch using thread and wire.
